No such thing as an easy fix especially for a newbie. Buy yourself a new plastic connector in addition to the wheel sensor. The plastic for the connector normally falls apart when you go to remove the wheel sensor from the main wiring harness. Replace three wheels sensors on my X and all three times the plastic connector just crumble when I went to unplug the wheel sensor.

Is it at the wheel and not in the differential? I my old 2wd E36, the speedo sending unit was in the diff and could get funky, fixed with a differential gear oil. As RB says, may be completely different in our E53s.

OEM
Appreciate the input! I've read different opinions on the OEM vs non-OEM for the sensors. What do you guys think? Looks like I found an OEM sensor for $60 vs the $90-$100 I've seen. Any major difference other than time it will last?

Sensor ordered, any info on eEuroparts
Ok, ordered my rear wheel sensor. Ordered it from eEuroparts in CT. They had some very positive feedback/reviews so pulled the trigger. $44 for the part, $52 total for shipping. Anyone used them before? Regardless, part is on the way and I'll make the replacement attempt when it gets here on Tuesday.
Thanks again for all the input!

I order parts from eeuro every once in awhile. Sometimes they have a better brand selection than FCPeuro as well as lower prices.
