Trying to fix my X does this quote sound right?

*****update***** post #25

When I took my car for a PPI the shop had told me I needed to change both thrust arm bushings and ball joints and something about my rear arms. Basically my only symptoms was when the car is on the lift all 4 wheels have play. (left to right) i put 1000 miles on the car since and haven't noticed any problems. when I drive I have no vibrations in the steering or pulling even when braking but I do have an annoying creaking noise coming from the rear suspension so to fix the front thrust arm bushings with both ball joints and the bushings in the rear plus my idler pulley and the belt they quoted me close to $2500 I didn't have the money at the time but now I do so does this price seam reasonable or should I go elsewhere

doesn't sound right to me.

just the rear bushings and ball joint plus idler pulley and belt? No more than a grand i'd say.

before changing the bushing in the rear, check out the polyurethane ones - you might like it, you might not, but worth checking out...

you are in nyc - $2500 sounds a bit too much... for reference, check with a dealer, it will give you the top figure... then check around... does 2500 include parts? what brand parts? what if you have your own parts?
