OK uploaded.

First 20 secs key position 1, then key position 2 the beeps then kick in (before engine starts), but starting engine makes no difference they still happen. They are higher pitched and come from a different place thank the pdc beeps.

x5, 10 high pitched beeps every time turned on. - YouTube

I wish I could be of more help....but in all the time of owning my X, I can honestly say I've never heard it make a beep(s) like that... Hopefully someone else can chime in on this!

That just flipped me out because I didn't realize you were in a right hand drive. Have you tried disconnecting the battery for a 30 minutes? Maybe resetting whatever it is..

Are you certain that the warning isn't coming from one of the tire pressure monitors? I see that the warning is displayed on the instrument cluster...and based on your model year...you have the type that send a signal to the DME. If all 4 tires that are mounted are okay...remember that the spare also has a sensor...and if you haven't checked the spare...it may be low.

Does your owners manual mention anything about the tire pressure system giving an audible warning as well as the written warning that appears in the cluster? Let us know if it does because there is a change in production as far as the tire monitoring systems goes. The latter e53 (like my 06) uses a different set-up...which uses the wheels sensors to detect a difference in rotation to determine is a tire has a different inflation than the other tires.

You can see in the chart below that 10/04 build date is where the tire monitoring system changes for the e53. Again, the earlier system uses yellow tell tale (light) + text + gong to alert the driver...whereas the latter only uses the yellow tell tale:

Hi, had a new battery in August at the Dealers. The beeps are comming from the drivers side (rhd) down and to the right of the steering wheel, where your glove box is I suppose. I had a new final stage resistor fitted a couple of months ago, the guy said when he dropped the panel under the steering wheel there was a 'black box' stuck to it with velcro that he could not identify. Maybe it could be a tracker fitted thats beeping?

Hi, I dont have a manual, I didnt have the sensors re-fitted after a new set of tyres as they were all flat.
I thought I would just be able to code it out but the dealers have said no.
So I am not sure if the ten beeps are for that or not.

I'd check into that "black box" under the dash and give it a closer look.

Also, check your spare tire...even if you replaced the 4 mounted tires without the sensors...if the original spare is still stored in the trunk...it would still have the sensor installed.
