Ditto...VR is fantastic...and the best way to use my Android (Samsung Galaxy SII) with the X5's BT. The system never completes uploading my phonebook...but the VR system does allow me to SAVE NAMES and NUMBERS.

So all I need to do is press the "talking head" button on the steering wheel and ask VR to CALL NAME (for numbers that I can't remember...just save the name to VR), or CALL NUMBER...and I'm good to go. It's very Star Trek'ish...like asking the "Computer" to do something.

Below is a "cheat sheet" for some of the VR commands:

How to STORE a name/number in Voice Recognition

How to DIAL a number in Voice Recognition

met a guy at work, he has a 2004 X5 4.4 with 112 K miles... brought my computer to read some codes that he was having and read out the BT module... he was surprised to learn that he has one... we paired his phone to the car, tested the connection, it works fine... he had the car for 5 years and wished he had one, and turns out, he had the BT all along, just never knew about it...

I pitched the Xoutpost to him, hopefully he will sign up, and maybe he will show up for the Bimmerfest in july...

Press the "talking head" button on your steering wheel and when you hear the acknowledge "beep"...speak the work "HELP" and see if the car responds back to you.

Report back what you hear/find.

does it control the Nav too? pres the button, wait for beep, then say SCALE xxx FEET... like SCALE 400 FEET... see what happens... mine came with the BT and VR but it did not control the Nav... I swapped it for the 12 generation module that i had from the other X, and that one had the Nav controls too...

That was hilarious...same suggestion, same wording, at the same time.
