there is virtually no such a thing as a full package X5 - there is always something to be added... even to a fully optioned 4.6/4.8 E53...

yes, PDC is a Parking Distance Control

on mine, when the CCFL were on and the PDC was activated, i was getting a constant beep from the front sonars... the beeping would stop once the CCFL was turned off... and started, once it was turned on...

so, i wired a relay to pin 7 on the PDC control module' middle plug in the trunk that would cut off the CCFL when the PDC was active... rather involed process, and depends on your CCFL power supply...

the PDC is active when a reverse gear engaged, and it is disengaged when the car moves forward about 30 yards (or something like that)... so, you can't drive with activated PDC, so it will not interfere with normal driving...

how long have you had this car and did you own a BMW before?

nah honestly i was handed down this car because im an 18 year old guy, always been into bmw and always wanted a e39 m5. But i can honestly not complain about this car because in my eyes its really clean and well maintained with weekly car washes, waxing and annual maintenance repairs.

Emin, I would do this type of install to hopefully avoid the PDC problem that Terminator did, I know that most on this forum prefer to have their angel eyes on all the time, but on the facelift cars, angel eyes are used as parking lights so this is how I envision BMW intended them to be.

Should be one less wire to tap into, but the rest of the hookup should be the same, there are 2 inputs for the CCFL ballast, 1 connection for + battery, one for ground, and your "trigger input" which you can tap into the LCM for parking light operation, if you want to do the install I linked above. Yes the CCFL are plenty bright to use at night with fog lights perhaps at dusk, but they will not replace low beam xenon's when it is truly dark out.

Have you considered removing those glass "waffle lenses" while you have the headlights out/apart? Would really update the look of the stock xenon lights, and it doesn't affect the beam pattern of the low beams either. Some have also taken off the amber turn signal portion as well, here is a link below with waffle lenses removed:

I did want to take the waffles out but the thing is that my angel eyes are with double sides tape, and I had already put them on at the time, but for the orange turn signals I don't know, I would take them off but with the glue already being on the headlights it's a real hassle taking them apart but I think I will take them apart in the future but for now it will just need to stay

And for later on I might just end up buying some aftermarket head lights, but does the look bad with the waffles tho?
