I see what you guys are saying but I still dig them. Wheels do need spacers though.

I did this retrofit a couple months ago and yes it's expensive. I also thought it needed the extended flare on the bottom of the front bumper to complete the look. But overall I'm very happy and I like the way it looks. It's a subtle change that I think adds a bit of aggressiveness to the lines.

so currently i have the front flares and rear flares on factory fit.

i am about to pick up a local running board kit from an X5 part out and of course it doesnt have flares which is fine.

what would be the easiest or fastest way to get running board kit installed and my flares transferred over?

i dont really care about selling arches later or or trying to revert back. the car will sit as it is once the running boards are installed.

do i really have to remove the rear bumper to do the rear wheel arch?

Your running boards will have to be compatible with your arches because there are arches for running boards and without running boards.

The fastest and easiest way is to do them yourself. It’s really easy and there’s plenty on info with a search.

I can’t comment on details of the rear bumper but I know there’s been some members on here that have converted to the 4.6/4.8 extended flare look.
