Those look to be in the right position... Anyways... I wouldn't be too concerned yet. It sounds like you are having the EXACT same symptoms as me from this post http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...t-problem.html

In my circumstance, when this problem happened I checked mine with a voltmeter, I was only getting 8.8v to the car which means the voltage reg is kaput. How many miles are on your X? If its near 100K, I would change out the voltage reg only after you determine your voltage. Carry a voltmeter with you when you drive, as the problem occurs, pull over open the hood and check the voltage. Anything under 13 and you got a problem.

U can check your voltagefrom ur dash,

With the suspension once it throws a code u gatta clear it with computer, my suspension light was on since i.bought it and i got the dealer softwar and it showed last time there was a fault was last year

U can hold the right side peg on ur dash until test no1 shows than let go and press the right one untill u get to test 9, from there it will say locked, now u gatta put ur VIN code in (add up the last 5 numbers of ur VIN) input it and u got all these sensor readouts
Voltage, velocity, oil temp, coolant temp, instant mpg, too many to remember

I'm at GTS motor on long island, Nassau county and they say I need a new computer . For some reason I doubt it, but what do I know...they say that's why I'm getting trans failsafe msg, 4x4 msg, dsc. But how do u explain the radio cutting out or nav screen cutting out. Trans stuck in 3rd gear. The computer also said the voltage is 14.21.

car now had 59 plus k miles.

you need a new battery and a new alternator/voltage regulator... i bet you, that the collective knowledge of this forum has this problem nailed better than the GTS motors... if the elbow on your suspension is oriented correctly (you checked it, right?), then the electrical gremlins are related to fluctuating voltage in the system... the GM, while responsible for many things in the car, will not affect the systems in this particular fashion...

banging on the driveshaft may have resulted in dislodging some of the contacts - the temp sensor, the oil temp sensor, a speed sensor in the hub that the work has been performed... especially the speed sensor can be responsible for the trifeca lights, the engine failsafe and the trans failsafe - when the system does not receive correct info about the rotational speed of a wheel, the system can't match the engine revs with the tranny revs, then one goes into failsafe and the other one does the same to protect the more expensive systems...

nav flickering could be due to mixed telegrams on the iBus, canbus but more likely related to voltage in the system...

check the speed sensor in the wheel that the work was done at, see if that thing is operational... take the V-meter to the plug at the ABS module (responsible for the tire pressure, the steering angle, the tranny matching the engine revs, the brakes) and see if you have good hall sensors on all 4 corners... let us know if you need help in the pinout of the ABS plug... for pinout will need month and year of production

Yea this is a curve ball thing to do, but connect it to an inpa or gt1 or autologous and read codes.

Just a hit in the dark, when this starts happening, does your outside temp start reading very high?

just like the other guys r saying
this is a small little problem
you just need to go through the steps to find that 1 stupid lil sensor that's loose/broken or whatever but its not armageddon just yet

Are you dependent on an Indy shop or dealer or can you do this troubleshooting yourself?
