Similar problem as OP, but my rear fans still work, but just no hot air comes from them, just ambient temperature air.
I bought a FSR from RockAuto.com as an attempt to see. I just hope its not the blower motor itself

holy crap that was fast.
ok, so my FSR crapped out, and so I ordered one from RockAuto Parts Catalog and they had the factory part, not an OEM but actual factory part and for a smart price too. shipping was about $35 to get it from the UK to Western Canada, but I got the prt in 4 days!!!!!! Rockauto.com also has lots of parts for non bimmers too (and other Bimmers actually too) I made two orders on the same day from Rockauto. One was shipping from Eastern US, and the other from the UK and I can't believe the UK shipment made it faster. WOOHOO. Daddy' gonna have heat in the X5 tonight.

Phuck Phuck Phuck, that did NOT solve my problem. I read it could be a relay stopped since my fuses and resistor are fine.. Just praying its not a blower motor replacement.
160K kms only
