Blowers (fans) not working
 

Hi
I've owned my X5 for 2 weeks and have encountered my first issue, I went to put the heaters on this morning and nothing happened. The display lights up and everything looks to be working but when I increase / decrease the fan speed nothing happens. If I switch the air con on, i can hear it fire up under the hood but still nothing blows out... any ideas?
Car is a 3.0i 02 model.

There are a couple of recent posts about the FSR. Final Stage Resistor.
That would be your first thing to check.

Does you rear blower work?

I would check the fuses first.

Not sure if the rear blower works, Ill check later... is the rear seperate to the front i.e. a seperate FSR?

Yes, it should have its own FSR.

Nothing is blowing out the rear one either....?

This one beats me. Not sure why both would give up. Check your fuses and if those are ok you might want to find a shop with BMW diagnostic software to do some diagnostic.

Maybe some other members can chip in, but it's very weird that both blowers would give up at the same time.

I've only owned it for 2 weeks so I dont know if the rear blower was ever working... Ive ordered the part now anyway. I'll check the fuses tonight... hopefully it's as simple as that.
