S417A SONNENSCHUTZROLLO HINTERE TUERSCH. Roller sun visor, rear door

this is an option for a manual rear door sunshade - I suspect, that it has been mislabeled on some of the cars as automatic. unless there are pictures/videos on a contrary...

I'm pretty sure you're right about the manual rear windows sun shade.

Tore the page, and it's a little blurry, sorry.
For '01, there were only 35 made.
Would really like to see a picture of the exterior/interior if you get a chance.

Since BMW offers such a small selection of colors, I have wondered what and X5 would look like in other colors.

I posted the pic of the window decal, that's plenty.

I meant to post a reply to the main thread, not the sub thread, Sorry for that.

Btw its one thing if you don't want to give someone the last 7 of your VIN but if you wanted to look up the build sheet for yourself we can give you the website to look it up, would be interesting to see what options this rare edition came with that our regular X's do not.

Terminator was just trying to help and all will vouch for him here!

EDIT: Just read your thread from 2008, didn't realize you posted the options packages back from then too, what a sexy copper color X5! Very unique!

Just an FYI...I don't think the 100% option code is what many are thinking that it is. I've never seen anything that clearly states what it means...but that code appears on many build sheets of vehicles that DON'T have all the options.

My belief is that it is more of a "market" code...as in the car is equipped with 100% of the options spec'd by the BMW market the car is going to be sold in. For example, BMWs built for the European market can be ordered ala-carte...just about every option that is available can be selected. But in markets like BMW NA (USA) or BMW Canada...a model is offered with pre-selected options as "standard equipment" + specific stand-alone-options + optional packages etc. that are chosen by that respective BMW group. To expedite the order list...the included options/features selected by that specific BMW group is given a "code" nbr "100% option code"...and that is what we see on the build sheet.

The "100% option" , "special motor", and "brake switch" options seem to mystify owners the most...and usually create a lot of buzz in trying to figure out what they mean.

Some time ago I googled the risk of giving out VIN and showing plate number in a picture.

What I found was there was not enough reason to worry about it. There was risk in the past that has carried over to current day but those loopholes have been closed.

There can be differences state by state but the posts from 'experts' endorsed the risk was very minimal.
