to get the actual as-built sheet of your car (different layout than the new car sticker), go to rubmw.ru, and use your last 7 of VIN to get your info... or, you can shoot your last 7 of VIN and i can try to look it up... the site is in russian but it has the english link

I would love a window sticker. Wonder if BMW NA or a local dealership can access them?

I was told mine sold for $69k new, which is completely insane considering what it's worth now. Then again, in 2002, a Dinan 4.6 was probably the fastest SAV on the road.

Hey Dan,

I tried to ask BMW NA for a copy of my original window sticker when I bought my X. I wrote them a really nice email, saying that I had a very rare 3.0 equipped manual transmission X5 with the 2-axle air suspension, and would like a window sticker for nostalgic purposes, even told them I could prove I was the owner and everything, and they basically told me that they appreciate my enthusiasm for my BMW but they cannot reproduce original window stickers.

Boo.

Interesting. Thanks for sharing. We need to figure out if they "can't" get window stickers, or "won't share" window stickers. I have some people on the inside... reaching out to them now!

Exactly! Not sure if they had the capability or not, or maybe someone just didn't want to put the effort into finding it! I figure every VIN that is produced has a copy of the window sticker on file (it has to be printed from somewhere!) Let me know!

Here is my sticker...have had it in the glove box since new in Sept 2001.
We got $10Gs for the CEO's Jeep Grand Cherokee, a grand off the sticker, and drove away for ~$35Gs, plus tax and tag.

My contact at a local BMW dealer said that she can pull window stickers for cars sold from that dealer.

So maybe if you could find where it sold from originally, you could get the sticker...

I fought this battle when I got my M5. They cannot provide that information as most of it is/was contained in the dealer files from where the car was registered with its DOFU. I did however link with BMW Archives group and they provided me a form to request a certificate "suitable for framing" for a cost of $90. This was the only option they provided to me. This is processed in Germany and is called a BMW Mobile Traditions Certificate. See description below:

BMW Original Production Certificate (your baby's birth certificate):
BMW item number: MT-Cert

Add to your pride of ownership - and authenticate your BMW's original specifications - with a certified Original Production Certificate from the BMW Mobile Tradition Archives. This handsome document, printed on watermarked paper, contains all existing specifications for your car or motorcycle. This includes items such as date of manufacture and delivery, engine and chassis number, original equipment and more - a valuable resource for the vintage BMW collector.

The BMW Certificate, housed in a protective folder is $90 and can be ordered by printing the order form and faxing it, along with proof of ownership and your credit card information, to 1-888 Fax-2-BMW (1-888-329-2269).

NOTE: sticker on my 02 was $66k
