Compromises the integrity of the spring. Completely changes the engineering and R&D that went into the design and production of the spring. Completely changes the spring rate. If you crash, and your insurance company finds out you were riding around on cut springs, they are not likely to pay your claim.

Leave cut springs for Honda Civic owners.

The integrity of the metal can be compromised depending on how you cut the spring but it doesn't have to be. You may like or not care that the spring rate is is different. Same goes for the design compromise. If you are just going for looks, as long as you can accept that it may not be possible to get within alinement specs (increased tire wear), some suspension components are stressed more (might wear out sooner) and handling will change (more likely be not as good) then give it a try if you want.

I would only do so if I was prepared to buy another set of springs and try again or leave them alone the second time as any alteration could be as edparks posted. And, that you may need to make shorter links in the back to get it to look 'right'. Regardless I would start with installing the H&R set with no modification.

If your priority is to fill the wheelwells, than taller rims and tires with the H&R set will help you get you very close, and, without the risks associated with messing with the springs.

I have no clue about insurance but I would guess that any method of lowering would cause the same issue, which I had not thought about, oopsie.

These are not reps..these are real Miro 111 wheels (although only $900 USD new for a set)

Thanks for the feedback!

H&R kit is a good way to go. That's how I lowered mine a few years back. Ride is great and change in center of gravity feels good.

That was my thought but I went ahead with H&R and wouldn't want it any lower after seeing it and driving as is.
