That is amazing !!!! Almost $10K in damages ?!?!?! I just don't see it from those pictures. Most importantly though, glad you are okay, and glad to hear they will fix the car for you. Market value was still more than repair estimate.

Ummm.... yeah... about those lights though....

Yea I don't see close to 10k in damage but who cares if your not paying for it. See if the shop will fix anything else that needs attention while its there

The rear quarter panel (41217129093) is listed at $1600, if you can find one. Add in the muffler, 4.6iS body trim, etc and the parts really add up. My shop says they can not find the panels are in the states or Germany at this time. They believe some may be release at the end of the month. They are going through the typical channels. I'm going to see what I can find.

Just go buy this one instead, saw it today while I was out running errands, the lot owner said it has a clean car fax, here's the link and some pics I took. You could get this one for close to what it'll cost to repair yours, and hopefully it's never been wrecked.

It amazing how very little visible damage can cost to get fixed. Another risk of sinking mod $$$ into a near vintage X5. Oh well.

To the 4.6 in Rancho Cucamonga in CA posted above, am I the only one who sees tv's in the rear headrests as a tasteless 90s modification? I would never buy an X with something so blatantly aftermarket equipped, you don't know how well it was done lol.

I agree.. When I buy a car.. I want it stock OEM..

However that does look professionally done and clean..

OP.. I would get a check cut from the insurance and take it to a bodyshop.. you probably have 5k left over to spend..

Hey Jcp. When all is said and done, send me your damaged rear trim pieces. I need it to make a mold for a carbon fiber project I'm cooking up. They don't have to be perfect. I'll hook you up with something in return.

well, on long trips (and short ones as well), those monitors in the back are a life saver - I basically do not hear "are we there yet?" at all, the kids are too busy watching their own movies, or games... the monitors in the post above do look like the OE monitors which are totally useless... I have chinese aftermarket ones that can play DVDs from all regions (with my travels it is imperative to have all region player)... since those monitors only require a power source, there is no interference with other systems in the car... and each headrest monitor can play individual disk or memory chip, has built-in speakers, IR speakers, wired connector and FM for the audio - the FM part is cool for the kids, as they get to hear "surround" sound when i tune the car's radio to the speaker frequency, and play with the DSP for them... source of endless entertainment in the car...

and the "mod" is fully reversible - i can always stick the stock headrests back in before selling the car...

Yep. I guess you don't have kids that needs to be constantly entertained.

Only thing I saw that was tasteless was the after market headlights.
