So my 2003 x5 3.0 has a developed a severe whine from the alternator looks like bearings are going (has gotten worse). So i search online and found this site.
AlternatorPros > Compare and buy as stated on their site: No Hassle Warranty (2 Years Included) 2003 BMW X5 3.0L Alternator BUILT IN THE USA OPTIONS: 120 Amp Bosch Unit TECH SPECS: 120amp Bosch Unit - QULAITY REMANUFACTURED OEM UNITS its rebuilt and i dont mind....as my first lasted only 2.5 years (replaced under warranty) from bmw had just bought her brand new. but 100 Bucks really?:wow its so cheap ill take the plunge just to test for fellow members but wanted to see if anyone has dealt with them yet. |

The 40 is for core which you get back so I did not count that in the price. |

I tend to agree, if the time/money/what have you doesn't bother you then why not? It's not like you are putting it in someone else s vehicle and making them live with your experiment. Plus I like the fact that you are willing to take one for the team and give it a whirl.
