Russian, they're in the glove box. They are powered via the OEM power adapter for the flashlight socket. Display, 2x WBO2, EGT, Oil pressure, Boost modules

i've got the IAT, WB02, fluid temp and map/boost boxes...AND the display control unit in my e28. they barely fit in my glovebox! and the little aluminum boxes do not slide together like they are supposed to. i have had mine for almost 5 years though. maybe they have improved. slick design although the gauge programming is quite a chore.

i had to be very judicious about grounding those things very carefully so the analog outs would give useful information. not sure if you are using the analog outs. have you been pleased with it? have you calibrated the sensors...like...compared the stock sensor outputs to the PLX outputs to see if they are the same?

Those boxes fit together awfully, dont they? Prying the rails up with a screwdriver helps, but yeah. Nice thought, poor execution. The data from the analog outs is all different data from the OBD port so I've nothing to really compare one thing to another. The WBO2 data reads a touch richer than a dyno tailpipe sniffer, so I'm ok with that. The EGT temp, Oil pressure, and boost data, I trust it to be accurate.

What I wish they would change is the input/output design. Apparently the whole module risks damage if the I/O cable is disconnected while the unit is powered?

i have a NUMBER of complaints about those units. like you said, the execution....

interesting that you mention the WB02 vs the tail sniffer. get this: on my setup, what you see on the gauge is also about 0.5 off from the analog out (also from the PLX and which is fed to my standalone). how about that?

problem is, i have created my entire fuel map based off of the PLX wideband. ultimately, i changed the analog calibration in megasquirt to compensate. i figured the 'digital' data showing on the gauge was correct and the analog was getting botched because of grounding issues or whatever. now you are telling me the gauge is rich. that would make sense. i always feel like i am running rich. sooty tailpipe on occasion. i need to get back to tuning!
