Replaced Parts - Cores What To Do With?

What do you all do with the parts you take out? I have an OEM front axle that all it needs is a new CV boot. Is there any value in it? Where do you sell it?

I also have a lock actuator unit that is in great shape, but must have a motor burned out. I know there are people out there who know how to refurb these things. So what do I do with them. I would feel bad just throwing them in the trash. Hell the steel in the axle has to be worth something.

Put them on eBay and note any defects with them in the descriptions.

I've been collecting old parts & plan on making some kind of sculpture with them... For now they collect dust in my shed.

Recycle

You could always recycle the steel parts at a metal recycler, I save up rotors and such and when i have a stack I bring them in and collect some $$ not enough to retire on, but maybe for a couple coffees!
If parts are repairable, why not repair them and have a spare??

I keep old parts until I don't have the vehicle any more or I can't remember what they are.

I used to throw stuff away if it had two mover stamps on it and I hadn't used it yet.

Big parts like the axle you have I toss or rebuild and have it around for a spare. Sometimes I sell parts on eBay as mentioned but I stay away from most heavy stuff that may get damaged in shipment and become a seller/buyer issue. If you upgrade to a premier member you can do an ad in the forum classifieds.

If you are a person who keeps cars for a long time, then a part like that would come in handy later if you replace the boot.

I put stuff like this up on Craigs List and see if anyone will pay a small price for it. If not I'll post it to the free section as someone always ends up picking it up (I'm amazed at the things I've given away on CL).

Probably will do Craigslist. Anybody on here want a free axle? It just needs boots.
