Strut/airbag not a good design?

I am getting ready to undertake the job of installing new front bags.I got only the bags from Arnott, not the entire assembly. I am reading the instructions and there is a part that says you should make sure the "lip is seated over both o-rings properly or else the bags won't inflate. Now im not sure how the OEM one is designed, but im thinking that if im going to design a part like this, I would design it in such a way where only the nozzle for the air supply gets exposed to the outside world.....As in...the only way for the air to escape the bag is if i remove the hose/connection to the air supply from the bag.....not because the "lip isnt seated correctly."

now..im no designer so excuse my ignorance if theres any.
