I dont know how this was wired or where, but my X came with remote start from PO, on the extra fob it also has lock/unlock and trunk pop. When i use that remote for example to open the car, the angel eyes do "blink" on and off when you hit it.. So im sure its possible just need to figure out how to wire it or perhaps like others said it could be coded. Also when i start it with the remote start button, the angel eyes and rest of parking lights actually do come on as well as interior even though the light knob is on "off".

yours is a 2006 model and the AEs are fed from the LCM, besides, to achieve the remote engine start, i am sure they have "buried" a spare key somewhere in the vicinity of the ignition coil, to allow the reading of the code in the key... Guaranteed Alarm in Brooklyn, on Coney Island Ave, by the Parkway exit does these installs (SlickGT can confirm this) in the OP case, his AEs would not be going through the LCM, so he would have to hardwire his desired output...

You could always wire them like I wired mine to come on when unlocking and also with the same relay there wired to run as DRL's too.
I did a write up how too here: Few electrical mods DRL's and auto lights on/off with central locking Ive now swapped the lights for a set of factory Xenon's and changed the rings from CCFL's to SMD's ![]() |

Could this be accomplished exactly the same with a splice with the ignition, splice with the footwell lights (both for the trigger wire), and connecting to the positive terminal for the power source? Would this double trigger to the AE system cause any malfunctions? I am a complete noob when it comes to electricals, due to the fact that I am young and have no experience with them. How can you tell the flow of the current? I read your other thread and understood what you were saying; however, I do not know if I could recreate what you did without seeing firsthand how to do it. Do you know where I could find a splicing 101 for dummies thread? Hahaha

It would but there's no need to splice into the ignition because taking the switched live feed from the fuse box is an ignition feed so no need to touch the the ignition wiring.
so wired as i did it in the how too with the 5 pin relay and diodes you will have no issues with feed back or errors positive is taken from the LCM big red wire, fuse the power wire just to keep things safe easily done with female insulated spade fuses and plug them into the spades on the fuse. If you follow the pics i took you will notice the diodes have a silver ring around one end just make sure you wire them in the same as the pic and there will be no backfeed issues. |
