As far as the cold weather issues go....as long as you take the time to read some of the well documented items, put in the time with repairs and preventative maintenance and of course adjust your driving accordingly you shouldn't have any worries. It's when people here are unfamiliar with their vehicle, or neglect some of the major repairs that you subsequently see the nightmare threads.

As someone whose had their X going on 8 years now I can say this: Put in the time to look after it, and it'll look after you.

As someone whose had their X going on 8 years now I can say this: Put in the time to look after it, and it'll look after you.

That means no short trips such as driving the kids to school on cold days unless the school is 30 miles away.

Congrats ! Welcome ! And Hello from Montreal

... My first issue with cold weather was some misfire (intermitent) - now she's sleeping in a heated garage....... i also have to fix a valve cover gasket that doesn't help with the cold start...anyway Enjoy !!

have you replaced your ccv system ? I`ve heard that some misfires are caused buy a ccv system going bad. just my 2 cents.

Nope but thanks for the input !!...(i'll look at this too...) i remember that there was a consensus on this forum with the misfire at cold start and Intermediate lever issue.. Very very expensive job here that i will not go for.

I would not consider two posts concerning intermediate lever problems in cold weather a consensus or something to expect. It is something to be aware of but not cause for alarm.
