Mine used to be oily, but when i changed my VC gaskets i cleaned it up really well and it is still shiny and clean. I think thats the cam position sensors

so the valve cover gasket could cause it to be so greasy? Ive never removed the engine cover. i might just have to do that to see whats really going on.

I have a 2004 3.0i and i do not have xenon can i just swap out the halogen bulb for a xenon??

It depends on the projector. Some can accept a hid bulb with minor adjustment to the shield to cure the stray light (aka glare) problems. Unfortunately the proper path (which would be a projector swap) involves opening the housing...and it ain't no easy task if done neatly.

Has anybody tried using bosch oil filters for the m54?? I found them for the same price as a Mann filter
