OBD II DRIVE CYCLE

Q - As always, thanks for the concise information. Can I use INPA or DIS to scan and clear the SES in this situation?

M, I can't believe you don't own a cheap OBDII scanner. I have a $16 one and it works as should.
As soon as the SES appears, I'd scan it. If it's indeed the MAF related code, I'd clear it. Simple as that. Even if it's NOT a MAF related code, I'd make a note and still clear it and see if it comes back.
YES, you can use INPA to read and clear SES easily.

I actually have a PEAK Scanner - thanks for reminding me! LOL! Will that be able to do it?

I keep a blue tooth OBD II module in the car and with my Android phone I am able to read and reset most SES with the app TORQUE.

Hmmm... tell me more about this set up. Sounds interesting. I think I might just pick up a back up scanner and keep it in the car.

Easier to watch a video. It does short term and long term fuel trim so you can see if the engine is running rich or lean.

Like the free app so much that I brought the pro app for my son's tablet.

Haha...got an Autel Maxiscan (just like at the link above) in my X5's glove box. Makes it easy to quickly check or reset if the SES light comes on. At the price offered as of now ($17.29)...it makes a great Xmas present to yourself.

Well.... guess it's always better to start with good news. The SES light went out this morning - so I guess the MAF was the cause.

And on with "other" news.... I can hear the chains rattle on cold start up... AARRGGGGHHHH !!!!!! I hate these damn bloody cars some times!!!!!!
