I'd just fix it myself, but don't have a garage to work on the car in, and truth be told, I'm pretty low skill when it comes to cars... so pretty pissed off right now.

Sounds like you brought an aftermarket extended warranty. Check what it covers but more importantly what it doesn't cover.
