Did they sell a few dozen, 27 or what?
I was told by a Dinan engineer that 27 of the 4.6iS supercharger systems shipped.

Oddly, the mounting point (within the engine bay) for the plaque is correct.

It's odd that it apparently has a plaque but according to their records just has a stage 4 tune (engine and trans). Vehicle definitely has all the other stuff except the sc and was done in 2007. Maybe they no longer offered the sc in '07 and the dealer sold the po an 's3' package minus the sc? Either way, it's not a true s3. No idea what the plaque means, but they keep track of the vehicles by vin, probably to prevent swaps.

Which are worth pennies on the dollar used.

+1. This 4.6is is worth NO more then any other "non-running", high mileage 4.6is.

I don't know about that, maybe $500 more, which still puts it way under the ask.

The argument could be made that it's worth less because with that many miles on it, items like brake rotors/calipers will need replacement. Can you say $8000 brake job?

I can't imagine a situation where you had to replace the whole shebang - and I probably wouldn't buy directly from Dinan. Calipers can be rebuilt, the rotors are 2 piece so you wouldn't have to replace the hats (which are usually as expensive as the rotor) and pads aren't too bad - I know as I have Brembos with no interchange on my 355 and pads are available under $150 an axle as long as you don't buy them from Ferrari.

Your point stands, though, as I'd be cursing and swearing shelling out for a $500 MAF on it if that went.

No doubt getting an X with Dinan mods/Brembo BBK and all those miles properly sorted will be more $s then an OE parts 4.6is. Seller has to accept that fact and will not want to hear it.
