Anyone have access to a recent Mannheim report ?

Seasons Greetings
I know that requesting a CarFax is verboten but I don't know is asking this would be as we'll. if so, mods please feel free to give me a virtual wrist slap.

I'm considering trading in my 2006 X5 3.0 step trans with 70K on the odo. It has no accidents and comes with every option except the self leveling suspension.

That includes factory Nav, upgraded Bluetooth with voice reco, rear sunshades, premium and cold weather pkg incl heated steering wheel, pano sunroof, aux in and more.

The dealer uses the average from Mannheim to offer a trade and I have no idea if their number is REALLY REALLY lowball. There are none on autotrader and they are all over the place on eBay.

Thanks !

Ed

This is the NADA guide used by banks to determine loan values.

The dealer I got my X from valued my trade (2006 350Z) on auction sale prices.

Thanks for the response.

Your reply supports the purpose of my request, which is that dealers don't rely on NADA or any Blue Book or Black Book prices.

They tend to use Mannheim or (I probably don't have the spelling right) Galves which I don't have access to...

But thanks, at least I have something

If no one steps up and provides you a Manheim auction summary I suggest if you have a Carmax by you go down there for a free appraisal. They use auction averages to base their valuation.

Would not go to Carmax, they appraised my first Viper for almost 15k less then I sold it to a private buyer for.

Right...I didnt tell him to sell it there he wants an appraisal. I think they will show him a market value based on auction values he could realize from a trade-in which is what he was looking for I believe. You will always get more money from a Private Sale than Carmax

When I went there they gave me a written offer without any online valuator printout/info. The only info handed to the seller is their lowball offer, no market value details.

The dealer I got my X from really wanted the Z. he showed me the auction values of both vehicles and after my starting to walk gave me high on the Z (I lost my shirt thanks to mods) and low on the X so I did not do as bad as I could have in the end.

I'd say find a dealer that will show you the current auction value.

Unless you have no alternative, I suggest selling it on your own.

I'll check Manheim for you but the real way to tell the value that I have found most useful is on the completed listings on Ebay. Dealers do use a book value but they will tailor your trade in based on many factors. Not the least of which the amount of money they have in the car you are looking at trading in on. Back in a sec with Mannheim results.
