FWIW, if I try to raise the vehicle via the switch you can visibly hear the pump working and it does take quite a few to get up there. The ride height changes are not quick either when lowering or raising, but definitely longer time to take to raise the vehicle in my experience.
Since you have DIS, have you run a ride height re-calibration lately?

That is correct , I fitted the new pump as I thought I was on the right track with the repair kit on the old pump improving things but not curing problem . Inact susp light has not come on yet but repaired pump went a few days without light coming on then came on again when weather was below zero as this seems to be a common thing. Ride height LED works but the vehicle gains a little height but not fully, when moving button from normal to off road pump is going all the time. Have done many ride height calibrations but not one since repairing old pump or fitting new Arnott pump.
As a side note do you know if the rear ride height sensors should be at an angle unlike the front ones which are dead level. Wondering if this has any bearing on problem as they may be reporting wrong info to module/DME
