Knocking Noise N/s Front
I have just bought a used 2003 x5 3.0i and noticed when going slow over uneven surface there is a faint knocking sound from front left wheel. I looked over a few forums and it seemed quite a common fault with people saying its either the anti roll sway bar link, anti-roll bushes or steering control arms. Just wanted to ask if anyone could advise how I can check for each of these without first going to a garage? Many thanks in advance |

I have the same issue and was told it was the strunt mounts causing the issue. they found no bushings worn, or parts loose.
The shop I use knows their stuff.. I assume this is the culprit.

[SOLVED]
Got the drop links changed today and also changed the sway bar bushes for some polyurethane ones.
Noise now gone
