Intake hose oddity
Took the air cleaner assembly apart to do the tensioner and found this: I had no codes and the car sounded fine Which is more likely, I broke it taking it apart or it was already letting in unfiltered air? New part ordered, not driving the X until it comes. Additionally, WTF with having to shove two pieces of metal in there to get this out? I was very afraid I was going to break the air box.

Looks just like mine 8 months ago. After ten years of heat the plastic got brittle. That same section just crumpled while trying to remove it. I drove for a week before replacing with a new part. No codes and everything worked just fine.

It is a really solid plastic, unlike the material I am used to in other cars.
Good to know, I most likely broke it. I also found out it was missing a clip (only three of the four were there). Real OEM's prices are apparently old, the discount prices I have been getting are more then their retail. Thanks!
