Just throwing this out there but, has anyone ever tried opening up the led assembly and soldering whatever temperature led or bulb you want?

There are versions now which come with a bunch of LED's, CREE 25W LED etc, but the optics of the ring only allow for so much brightness no matter how bright the LED is. This is how I understand why we can't have the brightness of E70's on our E53's.

I personally don't like how extremely bright the led's are on some newer cars. Some of them are so freaking bright that it looks tacky, kind of like chrome haha

I just ordered a pair of ba9s base led bulbs that I was told would fit the stock angel eye housing. it should be here by Monday the latest

I wanna order those! They look so sweet, but i find these LED bulbs dont last nearly as long as OEM bulbs :/

And i agree with the above some are too bright and look crappy.

I bought the 50$ racing dash ones

and they have been good for he last 2 years and they are ez to install no codes or flickering
