Happy B-day to my X53!

A little late. Born Valentine's Day 2006. I've now had it for four months, and put more miles on it than I expected - about 6k. And it keeps sending me flowers ....

All immediate needs were done by the seller, but since then I've added the UUC short-shift kit [SSK], had the clutch delay valve [CDV] deleted, and changed the fluids in the tranny, differentials, and transfer case [using Redline and BMW juice in the transfer], plus oil, fuel, air and cabin filter changes, pulled Blackstone oil and tranny samples, and added fancy cocomats floormats. The SSK and CDV delete have been great improvements to shifting performance. Handled like a champ [on 'fresh' Conti DWS] in Atlanta's ice storms, and getting between 18.5-24.9 mpg on premium, depending on the highway/city mix. Current oil fill is Mobil1 Ow40. Pending: mounting the OEM trailer hitch kit purchased back in December.

Plus, I have thoroughly enjoyed [and learned a lot] from the Xoutpost community. I'm hoping to celebrate another 5-8 birthdays with my version of the SAV .....

where did you get your OEM hitch? I am told there are none in the US or Germany!

See my post from early December, in the OEM hitch install thread, showing which dealers in the US still had some in stock [as of that date]. The list was run for me by the very helpful guys in the service dept. at Morristown, NJ BMW. I drove over and got the one at Athens, GA. I believe the list had a couple at dealers in the Chicago suburbs, and, when someone lasted posted, I think they had a couple at Bloomfield BMW in NJ?

Just checked the list - try Mini of Madison [zip 53713 - is the WI?], Schaumburg BMW, and Bill Jacobs Naperville - those looked closest to the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field ....

Cool - thanks! I did see your post on the install but missed the details on possible stock locations.
