I have taken care of protecting myself as much as possible buying a healthy warranty. The fix up list is to get the X where I want it to be: aesthetically, mechanically, etc.

If some don't agree, don't care. I don't exist in your world. You exist in mine. Bottom line, I like what I bought and what I have planned. For instance, sold my Shelby yesterday at Texas Direct Auto. Someone will soon own a really well sorted GT500.

Someday, when I get bored or pissed with the X, someone else will purchase a well sorted X5.

But not today....

These have been on e-bay for almost 4 months now. Don't fall for the "Awesome Shape" statement, no telling how bad they were before refurbishment.
Tiag makes a good point, if you're doing the emblems, you might as well put the proper Alpina wheels on there.

A few months ago, I had the pleasure of test driving a 2007 Alpina B7. Silver on black. Awesome car. Until I priced the auto insurance and a 2/24 warranty. All totaled, about $outrageous a year. It was $6k for a 2/24 for drivetrain only. No electronics, suspension, etc. And because of the exclusivity of the Alpina, it was an additional $2k a year above what I was paying for a 2009 Shelby for auto insurance.

The rims... No way! 21" with 3? tire manufacturers. And what they make are rubber bands. Too many horror stories of cracked busted rims. And as you can see are very expensive.

The rims on my 03 are the best looking rims. IMO.

Those are so hot! I was going to pick up an X5 with a set but it sold on Ebay a little too rich for me. What are these called? and can a guy get some reps?!

Reps are out there I believe. But listen please. The tires for these rims are ultra low profile. If you hit something or fall into something you're gonna bleed money repairing stuff. Start with a new tire. Then try and pick up ONE rim. I went to some backstreet lot here in Houston. Looked at an Alpina Blue B7. Again an 07 or 08. Only made them those two years until 2011 and on. Old models put out ~500/500 HP/TQ. I walked up, saw a 1" blister on a brand new front tire and thought I'd never getting off the lot before the sidewall blew out. Walked away.

See if you can find reps in 20". But watch the unsprung weight. You need to find some 5 spoke OEM rims like mine. Again, watch out for counterfeit.

When the repair bill starts to add up you're gonna wish you still had that GT500, and that day you speak of may come sooner than expected...lol!

FYI: I'd drop Endurance. I did. They don't cover anything. Very disappointed and their sales reps will blow smoke up your rear to get the sale. Once you file a claim, it's DENIED. Then you have to call and they'll say all sorts of things that are NOT covered in the booklet and say "Oh they should have told you that before, sorry".

Avoid Endurance at all cost.

Old thread bump.

Those Alpina wheels are STILL listed on e-bay, been listed for 14 mos.

I offered the seller around 1/3rd his asking price and was rejected.
