You must have the egr vac connected and egr fully functioning before any diagnostics are carried out as if its disconnected it will give you incorrect readings,on MAF ,for example! The ECU will look for a loss of air pressure when EGR is activated and if its disconnected ,this loss of air pressure obviously isnt present and hence the wrong readings. Keep us posted
