I try an remember to hit the unlock every time I stop now because I can't open the liftgate, gas cap or passenger doors without doing so first. I like to lay my jacket on the back seat and constantly go to get it and realize the rear door is locked. You can't open any door for your passenger (helpful if you have ladies or children in back) if you forgot to hit the unlock. Also, if you hit the rear hatch button, it is a race to the back to beat it from relocking itself before you get there. This makes the hatch button usless, might as well just hit the unlock button and use the opener on the hatch itself.I will be removing this option at my 1st dealer visit.

For what it's worth the rear hatch re-latches because the closing of the driver's door (or any door for that matter) forces air into the vehicle thereby blowing up/bouncing the rear hatch which then comes down with enough force to re-latch. Closing the driver's door gently will negate the problem.
