If you do drive in snow ever, I wouldn't purchase a performance summer tire.

I have the STII's on my staggered 20s, and am happy with the performance, treadlife, noise level, etc. They are 100% an all season rated tire, not summer, as I do drive on them year round and would never have bought a summer tire in NJ.

Sometimes if the car sits for a week it takes about 10 mins of driving for them to warm up and smooth out as they can flat spot (but any all season is prone to this), but no real issues.

With your budget for Vredstein's at $1000, I'd look into the Continetal DWS, they can handle snow if needed and are priced the same.

The Toyo STII's can be had around 750 for a set if my memory serves me right, good luck.

I hate TPMS, and I especially wouldn't pay to have the system put on so I'm not the right guy to ask.

I check my pressures every 2 weeks or so, weekly in the winter, and have removed TPMS from 2 of my past vehicles by "de-retrofitting" so to speak, no negative effects yet.

In my opinion TPMS is the lazy person's way of not checking their tires "no light on, I don't have to put air in them"

But if you are wanting it, the retrofit of the BMW module should be easy no?

I'm lazy.

Hard to beat $900 for the Toyos. The set I have although they weren't trouble-free they lasted me a long time. If I had rotated them side to side they probably would have lasted longer. I could probably sell the fronts since they have quite a bid of tread left.

A 20" tire that is rated to handle snow? Now that sounds appealing...

Front 275/40R20
Rear 315/35R20

I think I could handle that!

At less than 900 for a set I think you should get the DWS, good tire and 540 treadwear rating you'll be driving on them for another 7 years granted your alignment is fixed.

we350z-

What sort of wheels are you riding on.

I had TPMS on 21" wheels and it has saved my bacon - you can only imagine how quick air can go on a low profile tire. I had the alert set to chime off at 29PSI..

TPMS has it' value , depending on the application..
