I don't have a problem doing it myself . the only thing is I don't have to much room to do it and I don't want to do all that work and mess up something else. I called 2 shops the first one quoted me 2300 and the second one asked me to bring It in to have it checked out . I don't know what I am going to do I still need to fix the rear leveling system as well . do you guys think I should fix it or just sell it...

+1

I just read a thread by ///Bruce where a water pump swap on an '03 M62 cost $2800.

Just did my pump (and new belts) for under $200 in one day.

It's a plus knowing everything was done right/not rushed, and torqued to specs.

If you're not too attached to it, sell it. You won't get much however.
If you really like it, fix it. Try to DIY as much as possible. Never too late to start learning. Maybe paying a local DIYer (who knows what he's doing) to help you out.

I called a shop that specializes in BMW they quoted me $2300 . I explained to them the situation and noise and they basically said they will need new chain guides tensioners etc. my question is once I do this and I decide to sell what can I expect to get for the car? I really love the car . but I still have to ad a new battery , fix the rear suspension and a few small things. can I expect to sell it for 8K If I fix all the issues?

Thanks
