E53 Sun Visor Upgrade ?

Are there any upgrade mods that we can do to fit a sun visor that will either slide or have extensions on them? mine's too short for me.

Not life changing, but it is also a pet peeve of mine, on our '01: it may be the cheapest azz, least effective sun visor in any car sold, post 2000.

Most of my crappy company cars long before it, and every car except our Vette, after the '01 X purchase, have had sliding panels on the visors.

I know of no aftermkt visor that fixes the problem, and unless it was cheap and worked, I wouldn't do it to our old X.

^^Lol.

Just so we're clear, there was no disrespect meant. It's probably the best way to "extend" a sun visor without having to resort to cheap aftermarket pieces.

Here's something you could try. My car lived in Hawaii before it came to Illinois. The previous owner put a tint strip across the windshield to add to the factory tint. It really makes a huge difference and I would never take it off.

I have the same tint strip on all my cars, the X included. 5% and it really makes a difference, you don't even need a sun-visor! Goes right to the bottom of the rain-sensor and is cut around the rear view mirror

Lol on raise the seat!

At the risk of beating on an inane topic, my beef is with the lack of a horizontal 'slide' piece on the existing shade, to allow for extending the visor to a wider shade...

My complaint on these cheapazz visors is not based on vertical coverage, or sunlight creeping in over the top/bottom of the existing visor.

But, I bought some Geezer sun glasses this past winter in FL: the kind that go over my regular eyeglasses, and that has reduced the problem...I look like MrFookinMagoo, but vanity at nearly 67 Yrs old, is not a priority.

Yea I had a 10" drop on my scion tC before a drunk took it out thanks for reminding me lol You have to be careful though I think 5" is allowed by law varying from state to state. I used limo tint for the drop and back windows then 20% on side windows. I got pulled over once and while depended on the town etc.. NJ police do not like tint very much because besides the law one of the state troopers got shot years ago as he approached the vehicle and could not see inside.
Personally I think the tint laws are bullshit especially if you have black interior you want that tint it saves on gas keeping the cab cool as well.

Like member Ctsiegf I've always had a dark strip installed across the top of the windshield since the 80's. But a few years ago I still wanted a side extension, here's what I found after searching the internet.
