Throttle remapping question

Anyone have any experience with an aftermarket throttle response device?

I know of some muscle cars owners that are pleased with the results. I know of no one with a BMW going that route.

The one I have been reading about is designed to work on an E53 and has several performance settings as well as economy options. All changes can be made on the fly.

Thoughts?

Personally I'd rather have an ECU tune such as a Shark Injector for my engine that is tuned for 93 octane fuel that I use as opposed to somthing like the Sprint Throttle Booster which is a drive by wire throttle reducer.

Either way at $300 or so for something that gives only a couple ponies its steep.

Sprint Booster is supposed to increase response.

I would want smoother "tip in".

bcredliner, i have the one you are talking about.

Pedalbox?

Works amazing, and in all seriousness makes the car pull harder and no delay at smash the pedal launches.

Changes midrange dyanmics as well, versus it dropping another gear in manual mode, it stays in the same one and more usable midrange torque.

I have all Dinan mods except supercharger and Dinan engine and transmission software that gets the most out of mods so Shark Injector wouldn't work for me.

I have read Sprint Booster info. It has the performance options but no economy versions and is more expensive than the one I am leaning toward. Sprint booster is an easier install and less intrusive.

I don't know if it is called Pedalbox. It is on the Bimmian website and they don't mention a brand name. The link follows: Throttle Remapper For E53 - BMW X5 SAV - 2000-2006 From bimmian.com

Dont know about that one.

I wanted a sprintbooster and have tried it in a buddies X.

But it came down to the one i got is cheaper with alot more settings. Its also TUV approved and they make it in germany. Not sure if it means much, but i did read reviews/watch vids and i would buy it for every other car i have in the future.

I don't like that Bimmian one bc its plugged into the OBDII port all the time,

I was hoping to get a Shark Injector tune at Bimmerfest for 93 octane which would utilize my AFE intake better, we'll see.

I am concerned about it plugging into the port also. Will have to know why before I would make the purchase.

Based on what I have read about the Shark Injector it would be a good route for you to go. Much more economical than custom tuning and you can modify it to any other mods you decide to do in the future.

I will google Pedalbox.

I took a look at Pedalbox. It seems to be the best of the options. Easy install, several programs and can customize a program. It appears they ship a version specific to what vehicle, model and engine and nothing going into the port.

Waiting on Dinan input to find out if it will improve on what they did in the software I already have.

I wasnt much of a believer in sprintbooster or this until i tried the SB on my own when he transferred it over from his car..

And the pedalbox i like even better. If your going to go with that let me know theres a site you can order it cheaper off of and search around for the promo code.
