Has anyone ever used these?

Could this be an easier angel eye for headlights that can't be opened? Just place the bulb in and it has a ring on it? Forgive me I'm green here.

And has anyone ever used this on their non aluminum running boards?

Aluminum Running Boards For E53 - BMW X5 SAV - 2000-2006 From bimmian.com

If so how do you like them? Do they hold up well?

Those AE only fit and work if you have an facelift X5 .and they as bright as you think/want.

Never seen these before but they look promising
With 3M ,I would say they will stick pretty well and should hold up good, requiring just soap and water to maintain.
What I dont like is the price ,which is very expensive for what it is ,especially as the full OE kit with wheelarch flares, only cost twice more! Also ,it doesnt seem to have any rubbers in the slots and that kills the deal

Those are just AE LED bulbs that replace your yellowish AE bulb. You must already have the facelift version. You can get bright LED, they start around 5W and go all the way to 25-30 W

kwalk don't you have a pre-facelift? Those angel eye bulbs would NOT work in your housings if so because you don't have stock angel eyes. They are meant for facelift lights equipped with factory rings.

As for the running boards, considering with shipping those aluminum "boards" are more than half the price of the aftermarket, OE replica boards:

For 00 06 BMW E53 x5 3 0i 4 4i Running Board Side Steps Bars SUV 4WD V8 AWD OE | eBay

And those metal strips are over 1/3 the cost of Genuine BMW running boards:

BMW x5 E53 Brushed Aluminum Running Boards Up to 2007 | eBay

I wouldn't waste my time with them at $300+, I'd just as quickly take the aftermarket OE replica boards at $500 and take my chances, at least those give the wider look of the running boards, and the rubber inserts for grip as they should be functional in addition to aesthetical.

Thank everyone for your opins and advice. I was really stoked thinking I could get the AE look with just a ringed bulb..what a dream killer. Why couldn't someone just make a bulb with a ring that just fits into it that is already attached to the bulb. I have a drawing in my head, lol.

You are absolutely correct the replica's are a much better deal in which I think I'll bite..right after I get my new 20" wheels and tires! Thanks again everyone!

If you do bite on the replica running boards I'm interested on fitment and pictures when installed as i would like to pull the trigger on a set too, at 30% less price than OE

I've come pretty close to pulling the trigger on the replica running boards myself. They're an excellent upgrade for an X5.
