Mine runs 275/45-20 all-round, and handles like a dream. No tram lining, no adverse behaviour. No protrusion of the wheels from the bodywork (that would be unroadworthy here in Australia). BUT! Mine are 9.5's. 275's stretched out onto 10.5's would look dumb.

I run 45's because they have a higher load rating than 40's, which is important to me when towing my 5500lb caravan.

Don't do it unless they include spinners.

I'm not any of "THE PROS"
However, as said from others, 275 tires on 10.5" wheel look funny, especially on the X5. None of the wheel in the link would look good on it either. Wheel choice is personal taste so do whatever you like. Since you ask for advice: don't do it.

I sent kwalk the link to Wheel Tech Tuning who I bought my 168's from on ebay I hope she buys a set of OEM 20" staggered, he sells Style 214's and other BMW styles

Would look so much better than the wheels she posted earlier

Yes they would. I want an oem style but I'm trying to decide which ones I want. On a bmw FB page someone has style 121 & another has style 331 (but one got curbed pretty good) and neither is over 500.oo with the tires that's on them and they all have pretty good tread. But they're both 19's which isn't a deal breaker, but I really wanted to move to 20" for the ease of getting tires and wheel tech has staggered, but the price on these is very tempting being original bmw wheels.

Here you have some choices of oem wheels ...18"-19" in particular are cheap ...but tires will cost more ...I'm looking myself for a set of wheels for a winter setup..unless I find a good deal on craigslist I'll be buying from here...good luck with your decision

Not sure if the PM sent.

The BMW OE 19" staggered sport pkg tire sizes are 255/50/19 fronts and 285/45/19 rears. These have the same rolling diameter F/R and minimize transfer case gear/chain wear.
