Of course, my apologies to you on your obviously superior knowledge on the subject. Being a qualified mechanic, I have absolutely no idea about engine cooling systems. My ~30 years of experience only makes me even less knowledgable in the field.

The only ignorant person here is yourself. I'm speaking from experience in both my E34 M5 as well as my E38 740iL. Going completely fanless is stupid, there's a reason why the fan is there. Just because someone gets away with it for a while doesn't mean it's a smart idea in the long term. By all means, remove your fan from an engine that runs at 220+* and let me know how that works out for you.
