Brighter angel eyes (halos) CREE LED suggestions...

I like to upgrade to a brighter angel eyes (halos). I did an upgrade to more pure white 6.5k LED while back but they are only 8W or 10W version I believe. I've recently seen 32W and higher versions. Just wondering what you guys are using and what would be the brightest I can go safely... I know they generate a lot of heat so don't want any melt-down here...

I used the 25w angels eye bulbs with the 4 small led in them and they were definetly the brightest I've ever seen or used but I don't have the cold monitering turned off so they blew in less than 2 months. Never had any problems with melting

THE VEIN: what do you mean by cold ministering turned on. I just purchased the 25 w and will install this weekend, did you use load resistors?

The limit is the AE rings design. It can only transfer a certain amount of brightness. The brightest would be installing the LED rings.

"Cold monitoring": The LCM will check the bulb every time you turn on the key. With LED, it will flicker when the LCM sends a low voltage signal to check the bulb. Thus leading to a shorter life of the bulb.

Can you turn off cold check for AE by coding? I see cold check off for all various lighting except for angel eyes (halos) in BMW Scanner 1.4.0. Not sure on NCS Expert.

Ricky Bobby will become famous soon enough
Yes you can turn off cold checks 'monitoring' by NCS Expert or coding, there is a huge thread about coding lines if you do a google search.

But guys, listen to tmv above, THE OPTICS OF THE RINGS ONLY ALLOW FOR SO MUCH BRIGHTNESS, no matter how much you spend on 20w, 25w, 30w, 32w, etc AE bulbs.

Honestly the 10w versions for 60 bucks or whatever they are now, are going to be on the same level as the ones you pay $200 for, just to say they are the "newest and highest wattage/brightness"

This topic might have been done to death (sorry if so), but since it's come up again, is there any way to get AE as bright as the modern BMWs? Ex. clearly visible during the day?

I realize AE won't be bright enough to be daytime running lights but if I can get them brighter than what I currently have now then I'll give 32W a try.

Anyone ever try to fix the LED AE bulb after it blows from not disabling the cold check?

Does the load resistors installed in series with AE bulbs. Have any bearing on the cold Monitoring?
