It's gone.....

As the X5 drove off, I felt a pang...oh well..
But, after the lease on the GLK we'll probably be back.
The GLK is very nice, but, IT AIN'T A BIMMER...
Lets see that would be around 2017.... F ?....

That's not a good feeling and may be the 1st. symptom of seller's remorse.

No remorse, no dance of joy...time for it to go.
Final price was $12,800. (as is needing replacement of the headliner)
So now we are "out and about" in the GLK, and It almost rolled away as I was getting out of it %$&*$$#, shifter (on the wheel) you have to push it in for park, pushing it up all the a way with the engine off is #%$$%$ reverse...stupid Mercedes...
But as I said before I do like the rear camera.....the Nav, not so much, the small o/s rear view mirrors, not so much, the more complicated controls, not so much.....(more later as I use it more).....

I have had similar experiences in the better half's ML. The weird pushbutton electronic shifter on modern Benz auto trannies is dangerous, IMHO. I, too, like the backup camera which pops in view on its nav screen when in reverse. I otherwise ignore it. I still carry paper maps in the door pocket of my X5 .... I pick up the official state highway maps [in large print, where they have 'em ] at the rest stops when I cross state lines .......

Ricky Bobby will become famous soon enough
I hate to break it to you but a lot of the newer Bimmers are this way too, my buddie's F25 you press the button for park, and barely move the shifter for reverse or drive.

Its so weird. This is why I stick to 3 pedals...

short of manual tranny, i still like a real "schtick" where i move the lever into position... on my wife's E90, the MB and the new 2012 335 (what is that thing? F25?) there are electronic gizmos that will not help in real driving - imagine the fast and furious going through all those crazy Gs and then GENTLY touching the gear selector button to shift!!! CRACK, here goes the stick, broken off!!!

even in auto tranny, a light flick of the wrist to engage the E53 in manual or sport mode is not THAT light - it would inflict damage to the gentle stick on the newer cars...
