So you dont consider Mobile 1 Equal or better? Not sure what is so special about BMW oil, I dont know who makes it for them.

Oil is perfect...its the filter that's not....I think you confused my question.

According to the labels under the hood, it's Castrol. Or at least it was when mine was built. Anybody know who fills the barrels at the dealership these days? I'd be surprised if they didn't just go with the best bidder with an oil that meets their specs.

All my invoices from New Country BMW indicated 5W40...you cant buy OE "BMW" 5W40 oil to my knowledge.
