cold air intake any views on this one?

That's what I figured. The only reason I put one on my E30 was to increase engine noise. The X5 is just so quiet when accelerating. I want to hear a little something.

Is that a Helmholtz resonator attatched to the plastic part of the intake tube? I wonder if a little more growl can be found by removing that and covering up the hole.

I have the afe air intake on my 4.6 and certainly makes it sound much better and turns heads when accelerating hard! If you want a harder sound from your engine, i would get it! Pretty easy to install.
