Thanks for the opinion. It does very a lot.At the moment my wheels are flush with the the bodywork,so fitting the flares would push the wheels and as you say ,give it a more "truckish "look. The main disadvantage of not having having them is that in the rain the big 20" tyres spay dirt onto my rear bumper/spoiler.The other is that here they cost +/- 200 usd each(need 4!),which is quite a lot for buying something you are not sure you are going to like!

Are you fellows telling me that there is a different OEM aero kit than the one displayed in the BMW accessories book that I have? Now I am really confused. Is it possible for someone who has the OEM aero kit on their 4.4 and the aero kit on the 4.6 to send me or post some pictures of what it looks like? I have to finalize everything with my dealer tomorrow before they order the parts. Thanks again.

Cheers

No, there is only one OEM aero kit and that's the one in the accessories book. That can be fitted onto the 3.0, 4.4, 4.6, or 4.8. The 4.6 kit or 4.8 kit is what we do to make our 3.0 or 4.4's look like an OEM 4.6 or 4.8. Hope that helps. If you like the look of the X5 in the assessories catalog, then you need to order the OEM aero kit. Good luck.

The shape of the hood, the fenders and healights are different, hence the facelift. 4.6 kit wont work. Why the 4.8 kit just doesnt include a front spoiler like the 4.6 kit instead of having a whole new bumper, i dont know.

BMW wants to make more money from us by selling us the whole bumper instead of just the front spoiler!
