Stereo messed up

Since I've gotten my X5 last weekend, the stereo has some issues. In addition to the CD changer missing (seller had one sent to me now), the speakers on the passenger side are not working. I checked the balance, and it was set in the middle. I moved it to the right only and nothing. I think I could hear a faint bass from subs.

So, I'm going to be hooking up the cd changer, the fuse is out for that too, so I will put that in. I know there are other head units out there and I am evaluating them, but I want to get this working first so I know it is all functional before adding anything new.

Any idea where to look for the right speakers issue? Is there a connector that I should check?

I love listening to the engine but some tunes would be nice.

Check the connections on the actual speakers . door panel removal is not hard. I had the same issue and just replaced the speakers with the ones from bavsound

Could be the right channel to the amp is blown. The amp, at least on DSP model X is located in the left cubby at the rear of the X. It is also a know place for water to collect.

This is that spot. Where the cd changer is going to go. Is the amp here too or also missing?

Looking real closely through the darkness ( ) it looks like it is. It should be the component behind the black mounting plate that has the large colorful wiring harness going to it right below your Nav CPU.

Here's another pic below (that illuminated a bit better) that shows the (MK4) Nav CPU, CD Changer, BlueTooth/TCU module (silver thing mounted at an angle), and the amp (located behind the BT module & black mounting plate):

And since you have the 4.8is...I'm sure you probably have the DSP amp...which is #1 in the diagram below...and the component behind the BT/TCU module and mounting plate. The DSP amps have 3 wiring harnesses that connect at the top (the non DSP amp only has 2 harnesses that attach along the top):
