Odd how the aftermarket Stabilus gas shocks have unscrewable ends yet factory don't and are made by same company. What would be the purpose of the unscrewable ends I wonder?

I realized recently that I need new hatch struts (ouch! head!).
I ordered the struts and the springs just this AM. It looks like shipping may take some time, but I'll come back to the thread when all is installed.

Since you have the same high standards of quality as I do Prop I will be tuned in to see how you like them.

I've been driving (3) E53's for over 14 years and never not once have I ever accidentally hit the hatch button. I'd like to hear exactly *how* they did this from someone who has.

Miss the DSC button or have kids... It hasn't happened to me, and is probably not memorable for anyone else in stock form.
A linear actuator would be a cool addition. Integrating it to open and close would not be easy to do though. |
