alarm wont stop and key doesnt do anything?
walk the dogs this morning and as we're getting back I hear the alarm. get up to it and the remote doesnt stop it. I put the key in the ignition and it wont crank the car. I finally just unbolted the siren and unplugged it. I know its gonna keep on going off until the battery is drained though. what can I do? its raining outside and the hatch area is filled with tools and axles for putting in a longer axle so I really cant just leave all that in the rain and unhook the battery.... |

ok, was going to pull everything out of the hatch anyway and unhook the battery and cant even do that anymore as I cant open the hatch. cant unlock any other doors and pulling them manually from inside doesnt unlock them either.
when I put the key in the ignition and turn it to "on" I just hear a rapid clicking noise and the couple of lights on the dash flash in tune with the clicking. |

ANNNNDDDD...its the battery.
borrowed my neighbors battery charger which reads percent battery charge. yeah, 8%. at 8% charge, the battery would barely make the clicking noise. at 25% the locks would barely function. at 35% again, the locks would barely function and the wipers attempted to work. at 50% charge, the wipers would work and the locks would work. at 75% charge, the dash actually lit up and when I tried cranking it over, it gave me the "ford" push....meaning it "clicked" the starter ever so barely. stay tuned. I'm thinking almost full battery charge before this beast cranks up. sooo many electronics to power up and likely a high torque starter. will probably end up buying a new battery lol |

You're on the right track. When the battery gets low the alarm goes off. Like a last dying scream.

makes no sense that something that will drain the battery will go off like that constantly and there's no way to turn it off. lol.

This is how the alarm can still sound off with a dead or nearly dead car battery. And if the car's battery wasn't @ 8%...and had enough charge...when you inserted the key into the ignition...EWS would have sent a signal to the GM that a recognized key was in the ignition...and it would have turned off the DWA alarm siren (see very last paragraph in info below)...but in your case...the battery was too weak to carry-out those instructions. ![]() ![]()
