Facelift a 2002 X5 ?

So is it possible to facelift my 2002 x5 3.0 ? I was looking at the
''Parts List for Face Lifted BMW X5'' link and wonder if there is any missing parts on the list.

I figured I'd spend around $3,000 to pull it off and do all the work myself. Was thinking of buying a newer X but am not sure I want to deal with the payments. I rather spend $3,000 than $15,000. Would def. make my x feel newer without breaking the bank. My X currently has a 5 year 100,000 warranty on engine and trans so I don't plan on getting rid of it. I think it's worth it considering I will be keeping her around for a while.

Have you also considered doing a 4.6is bumper and such? Or even just a skid plate? That will really freshen up the look. In my personal opinion I think the pre facelift looks better but I digress. I'd have a hard time coughing up 3k to make the X look like another one that's only a few grand more.

Yeah I like the 4.6is look but like the facelift look a bit better makes the front end look newer and more aggressive plus I would still have to get new headlights as the stock ones look dated. I was thinking of buying a 08 X5 but I don't want to deal with payments. Getting 04+ X5 is out of the question as here they still go for 7 to 11 k. Don't feel like spending that much just for the look. I much more rather spend $2500 to $3000 on parts.

I got side swiped in January and need a new passenger side fender (since the other driver took off on me) and the bottom of my bumper has a crack from the massive snow storm we had in Chicago. So I still need to replace some parts in the front so might as well give it the face lift instead of fixing it.

Just wondering if all the parts will fit.

Most people including other BMW owners will not notice the difference between a pre-face lifted X5 and a face lifted X5. I would spend that $3,000 on something else like stocks in Chevron.

That's true but I can tell the difference which is what matters most. If I can could get the parts used it would be more cheaper. Just an idea I had and will keep in the back of my pocket.

If you can get insurance to kick down some money than I would say go for it! Theres quite a bit of these X5's being parted so getting the full conversion shouldn't be to much of an issue and can probably get a good deal on it. If you have to go piece by piece don't rush it and get deals where you can. Just double check if the mounting points all line up because if they don't and major modifications are needed it can be a pain! Its definitely doable and if you really like it I say do it! The aftermath of the project will be worth while at the end!

Great idea. piece by piece don't rush it is a perfect plan if I can't get it all in the take. I just love the aggressive look of the facelift. Well see how it goes as far as the insurance but thanks for the info. Appreciate it.
