battery keeps dying

So my fsu when out agian so they sent me a free replacement. ($23 off carparts.com) that was on last monday after i took my key out of my car the blower motor was still going and complety drianed my batter. i got a replacemt from my friend who is parting out his x but it was also faulty just as my original one was. it only let the motor blow at a very low rate. i was able to use this one untill my repacement vame in the mail.

anyways as of friday my car has been to weak to start the motor almost everytime i go anywhere. and i noticed the light on the shifter are on...

i think this may have somthing to do when me taking apart the Center Console and wraping it with vinyl. i remember that was the the only thing i forgot to plug in. but noticed right away they were not on and pluged them in.
my alt is brand new and it is charging great. there has got to be some kind of leak somewhere. i have read it could be my GM. but im really hoping its not. please help

So this is weird... so after i take of the battery charger i have my voltometer hooked up to my car and i can watch the power go down from 14v all the way to 11v in a matter of min. i pulled out my brand new fsu and put my loaner one in. the voilt drop down to 12.88 and stay there... im thinking there china fsu are garbage. but also my orange shift lights are still on. i have never noticed before but i have reald that some 01 and 02 e53 always stay on. any comments

Yup you are correct that light stays on for the earlier models according to a few posts here, mine goes off after 17mins in my 2004 3.0d.....do an amp draw tests see what the readings are with the fsu in and and then take it out and do test again....set the multimeter to amp mode and see what reading you get

It's well documented that the non-Genuine BMW FSRs are garbage.

I had two China FSRs fail in 3 mos, got the Genuine BMW FSR and no issues in almost 5 yrs and 80k miles.

I unplugged the FSU and plugged it back in. It hasn't been on the charger since 730am this morning. I started it up at 1pm it started fine. After I got back to work I out the voltometer on and 1 hour later this is what it reads

This is good

I ordered a NEW FSR from BMW and i got a BMW sticker by valeo part. So feel free to buy a valeo as thats whats OES. Or maybe it was Vaico. Either way it was identical to the one I pulled out.

My FSR ruined my battery, I need to head back to pepboys for a warranty replacement. I'm getting about 12.2 immediately after shutting off, and as low as 11.8 after 24 hours. Hopefully it tests dead as Bosch has a 3 year replacement.

So everything was working really good today I have the volts up on the cluster and there were ready 13.7-13.9. All the sudden the blower motor turns on full blast and my volts drop down to 12.2..... I had the final stage unit just hanging from under the dash, I try to unplug and it is really really Hottt!!! I pull over and unplug it and my volts go back to normal. Wtf
