I would take it to a well recommended indy shop for an inspection and if they were not comfortable in also diagnosing the transmission also to a transmission shop that is familiar with BMW transmissions. Regards if there are symptoms of a problem or not that is the most critical part of preventing buyer's remorse when purchasing any used vehicle. Even if you are completely DIY capable get a second opinion.

There are usually several potential causes of the same engine and transmission symptoms. Without an in person diagnosis there is no reason to conclude the transmission is failing.

Here's a well respected Transmission dealer that know something about the ZF tranny in the NYC/Brooklyn Area. I would have no problem in taking my X to him for transmission repairs. He has a Youtube channel and he shows the disassembly of a ZF5HP24 trans, along with what he do to rebuild them. Gary Ferraro is the owner and Youtube poster.

Here's his Youtube channel. Search his videos on ZF 5HP24 trans.

I figured you guys would have some good feedback. I'm probably going to hold off on this one even though it's clean. I would rather wait and find a lower mileage without the possibility of imminent transmission failures.

Plus it's equipped with the sport package that I find desirable, but the wife would be prefer a less firmer ride.
